Inspired for more
Some of the most fulfilling events I get to do perform at are my non-profits. For the third year in a row, Dr. Barbara Brooks used KC Webb Entertainment as her DJ for her R.A.M.A.L.'s 7th annual "New Year, New You" breakfast and learning event.
What is R.A.M.A.L. you might ask? Many of us are more familiar with national non-profits such as American Cancer Society and so on. Well R.A.M.A.L. is a non-profit organization that serves the greater Ocala, FL area. Dr. Barbara Brooks, a former school teacher, has dedicated her retirement years to help "at-risk" youth and minorities. For instance, in years past, the organization has been able to give out a single $500 scholarship. However, this year, she was able to give 5 very lucky young ladies, $500 scholarships.
Typically, when I'm performing at the Ocala Holiday Inn, I'm usually DJing a Wedding and reception. In some cases I'll even be entertaining at a birthday or a prom. This year, we grew more involved in the "New Year, New You" event. In addition to handling all of the audio needs, we also extended our services to handle the visual portion too. Though the event wasn't tough, I typically don't find myself doing both audio and visual for event, so I enjoyed the light challenge for the show. I'm looking forward to growing with R.A.M.A.L. and being a large part of their success for years to come.
